Our Founder

Justin Lott, the visionary founder of VarCity, brings an exceptional blend of educational achievement and practical experience that underscores the company’s commitment to its mission. A former student-athlete himself, Justin experienced firsthand the challenges faced by athletes transitioning to life after college. He holds an Associate of Arts degree from Treasure Valley Community College, a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Avila University, a Master’s in Business Management and Leadership from Liberty University, and is currently pursuing his PhD in Sports Performance Psychology. His diverse academic background equips him with a unique understanding of the sociocultural dynamics involved in athlete development and stakeholder engagement.

Justin’s athletic journey has not only shaped his character, but also instilled in him the importance of community and collaboration. Having competed internationally in basketball, he cultivated a deep cultural awareness and the ability to  collaborate effectively with diverse individuals and teams. His transition from athlete to collegiate coaching has been marked by over a decade of progressively responsible experience as a coach, personal trainer, assistant athletic director, mentor, teacher and an academic advisor. Throughout his career, Justin has honed his leadership qualities, enabling him to effectively mentor student-athletes and guide them in their personal growth.

Justin holds several certifications that reinforce his capabilities as a leader and facilitator. His training in Conflict Management equips him to navigate interpersonal challenges, fostering a harmonious and productive environment for student-athletes. As a certified Intercultural Development facilitator, he promotes inclusivity and understanding across diverse backgrounds. Additionally, his certification as a Safe Space Facilitator highlights his commitment to creating supportive environments where athletes feel validated and heard.

VarCity is poised to be a pioneering force in the realm of athletic development. VarCity stands to redefine the narrative for young athletes, fostering their growth into well-rounded individuals who can successfully navigate life beyond sports.
